I apologize for inadvertant posting a bid on a Traveller adventure to
TML. I forgot that I was reading a TML digest and not a posting to
rec.games.frp.marketplace.

BTW can anyone come up with a good reason why recoil compensators are
diffrent for Slug Throwers and High Energy Guns ?

Thanks

Chris Cox

First things first - Vampire Fleets is great!!!

I was waiting to see when and how the friendly virus would be introduced
into the universe, and VF did it well.

Few questions though:

1) On page 15, the referee's notes on Aight say it has an operational
starport, whilst the subsector map and UPP on page 14 says class X, which
I take as no starport. The same applies to Matunuck on the map, but it has
an E class starport on the UPP.
Ihishi, 3204 on the map on p14 has no starport, on the UPP on the same page
is is given as having a D class starport.
On page 19 the referee's notes on Exeter says the world has no operational
starport, and then says in the next paragraph that Romrugo of Vars, the
most powerful of the TEDs controls the starport and a fleet of 3 armed
spacecraft. Does Exeter have a starport?

2) The Star City surface map had a symbol in the Map Key for Compute HQ (
....er ignore the last line, just figured out that Compute HQ (and tube
station) referred to the members of the sentient council, and not one of
them.
What is the Large Hex superimposed over several hexes in the Downport region?

3) Are we going to get a Covenant of Suffren sourcebook? I was dissapointed
that Vampire Fleets didn't have more info on it. The article on the Covenant
in Challenge 76 blew me away!

Thats all, roll on Keepers of the Flame!

Greetings all.
As im abought to start a TW200 2.2 game and am seriously
considering converting my D.C. 1.2 to full core rules, and the
TNE rules dont anser this ( as far as i can find( If they do
call me blind and give me the page number))
Does any one know what skill the use of flame throwers
comes off bouth man portable and vehicle mounted?

Aside from that has any one out there done the D. C. to
full core rules conversion, and if they have could they let me
know how it went.

	Thanks

Hi,

I was reconsidering fusion rockets (and trying to characterize the exact
differences between them and HEPlaR (since we know HEPlaR is just a fusion
rocket given the energy of the exhaust vs. energy in)...

Drive type TL Thrust FC %disp./gturn
---------- -- ------ ------ ------------

Fusion Rkt 9 9 .00035 .1775

HEPlaR 10 200 .00088 .4464

The fusion rocket is 2.5143 times more efficient in fuel use, but the drives
are huge (around 8% of disp. per g). I was thinking of adding an "extra
dirty"
HEPlaR that would look like this:

Drive type TL Thrust FC %disp./gturn
---------- -- ------ ------ ------------

Dirty HEPlaR 12 200 .00035 .1775

It just gives a traditional HEPlaR the FC of the fusion rocket. I picked
TL12
since that's when damper technology (and hence strong/weak manipulation)
comes
into play. The point was to get a few more gturns for ships that don't have
to
land on populated planets.

On a practical level (converting designs) it allows you to simply multiply
the
number of gturns of fuel by 2.51---which would give military ships that are
tight designs with just 50gturns, 125 gturns to play with.

I like this 'cause we wanted ships to be a little closer to CT, and I can
still
design FFS ships, and have a note at the bottom that says "if you want a more
CT feel, treat the exhaust as you would a fusion rocket, and multiply all
gturns
of fuel by 2.51 (unless you are running the drive "clean"---more inert
propellant, less direct fusion)".

What do you think?

-Merrick
